Everything you need to fall in love with tennis, in one month.
GETTING STARTED
No equipment to buy. No one judging your forehand. You’ll start in a Beginner class with people who are exactly as new as you are, and you’ll leave your first session having actually hit a ball over a net.
By day 30 you won’t be “trying tennis.” You’ll be playing it.
Why this sport
Of every sport researchers have measured, tennis is the one linked to the longest life.
A Danish study followed 8,577 adults for about 25 years and compared how long people lived against the sport they played. Tennis players outlived sedentary adults by 9.7 years — more than badminton, soccer, swimming, cycling or the gym. The researchers’ own explanation: the sports at the top of the list are the social ones. You show up because someone is expecting you.
It’s an observational study, so it shows a strong association rather than proof that tennis itself buys you the decade. But it’s the best evidence anyone has, and it points the same direction every time it’s repeated.

Before you talk yourself out of it
The six reasons people don’t start — and why none of them hold.
“I’ve never held a racquet.”
Beginner classes start at zero: how to hold it, where to stand, how to make contact. Nobody assumes you know anything, because most people in the room don’t.
“I don’t own any of the gear.”
Borrow a racquet from us and wear whatever athletic shoes you already own. Buy something later, once you know what you like — not before.
“I don’t know the rules.”
You won’t need them for weeks. Scoring is the last thing you learn, not the first. Your first month is about making contact and keeping the ball in play.
“I’m not in shape for this.”
Week one you’ll move less than you expect — most of it is standing, swinging and resetting. The fitness arrives as a side effect, which is the whole point of a sport you actually enjoy.
“I’m too old to start.”
Tennis is one of the few sports you can genuinely pick up at 45 and still be getting better at 65. The adults in that Danish study weren’t professionals — they were people who played.
“I’ll hold everyone else back.”
Classes are small and sorted by level, so you’re hitting with people moving at your speed. A beginner class full of beginners is not a place anyone gets held back.
